Once you’ve finished Stalker 2’s opening mission, you’ll find yourself left to wander the Lesser Zone, a harsh, unforgiving place. Fortunately, if you follow the next objective of the main mission, you’ll find the game’s first settlement, Zalissya, where you can rest, trade, and pick up a whole host of side missions. Warlock’s Debtor is one such side mission, but it’s well worth undertaking early on as you’ll get your hands on a very useful weapon. Keep reading to learn more about where to accept this side mission and how to complete it.

Warlock’s Debtor Mission Location¶
As you get your bearings around Zalissya (Map Marker), you’ll eventually find the location of the Bar, where you’ll find Warlock, the owner. After the initial cutscene when you first enter the Bar, speak with him and you can ask “Got a decent job?”, to which he will explain about someone who owes him some money, and asks if you can track him down and get it back for him.
Fortunately, you won’t have to go too far to get this show on the road, but as with any time you leave the comforts of a settlement, be sure to check your inventory and healing items. You only want to take as much as you need so you can scavenge guns and other goodies on location to bring back and sell, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities where you’re going.
Find Valik Lummox by the Water Tower¶
The Quest objective does all the work for you, you don’t need to go search for Valik, he’s holed up at the Water Tower (Map Marker). Bring up your PDA and check your map, you’ll see that the Water Tower is situated just to the north of Zalissya, reached by heading up the northern path and then hanging a left once you reach the intersection, just beware of Anomalies that can suck you in on the main path if you do go that way.
Keep in mind the weather before you head off, the cover of night may help the later stages of this mission, but at the same time, it can also harm your own visibility, this is not a stealth mission after all. Alternatively, the brewing of a storm can help the final part of this mission too, don’t be too hasty to sleep through one if you see it approaching, Zalissya is close enough.
Regardless of your time of day or weather, as you approach the building near the Water Tower, you’ll find a group of Bandits who Valik also owes money to has the place surrounded, and you’ll get a choice of how you want to deal with the situation.
Talk to the Bandit Leader or Talk to Valik Lummox¶
You’ll have a choice on how you want this to play out, either play nice with the Bandits and either talk Valik down to find where the stash is or just simply take out the Bandits so you can deal with your own problem with Valik. There is no right answer here, but you’re not going to get any love from the Bandits even if you do “help” them so speaking to Valik is the way to go here, especially as just challenging the Bandits head on can be difficult this early in the game.
Go around to the right side of the building and you’ll find that Valik will speak to you through a window. If you still want to help the Bandits, this is your chance to Threaten Valik and start a firefight, however, if you want the more lucrative rewards, just speak with Valik and he’ll formulate a plan with you if you inform him that Warlock sent you.
Get Valik’s loot from the Water Tower¶
Now that you, and the Bandit Leader, know the location of the stash, you’ll be sent up the Water Tower to retrieve it. There’s nothing special to do here, aside from avoiding the Electro Anomalies that litter the area (use your Bolts to activate them and move by), so do so and climb the ladder to the very top to find the stash that everyone has been looking for, and the main reason for working on this Side Mission, Valik Lummox’s AKM-74S.
This is an excellent Assault Rifle for this stage of the game, mainly due to the incredibly useful scope it has attached to it. You’ll have to make a decision at this point though, do you use the vantage point you have along with your new toy to take out the Bandits and help Valik, or do you climb down and hand it over, I know what I’d rather do here!
Kill the Bandits¶
Hopefully you decided against handing over this weapon and decided to make use of the perch you find yourself in. Don’t get too complacent though, you can still get hit by the Bandits from here, although they will never climb up. Equip the new gun and use its scope to pick off the Bandits one-by-one, if you managed to start this quest during a storm, this can go in your favor too as it limits where the Bandits can actually hide.
Once the area is clear of any threats, climb back down and be sure to loot them all, there are plenty of weapons you can find and ammo that will be very useful. Hopefully you didn’t have too much on you when you started this mission so you can cart it all back to Hamster’s shop in Zalissya and sell.
Return to Valik now and speak with him, he’ll thank you for your assistance and you can demand he pay Warlock, the main reason for you coming here in the first place. Fortunately, you won’t need to head back to Warlock to finish the mission, Valik will transfer the money over now and you’ll obtain 900 Coupons for your troubles along with keeping the gun, the real reward of this mission.
