The Cobbled Swan Case is a companion quest exclusive to Neve Gallus. It’ll require you to investigate who’s behind the attack. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to finding the singer and defeating Makal Damas.

Starting The Cobbled Swan Case Quest¶
Once you’ve completed the main quest The Siege of Weisshaupt which is the final mission of act 1, return to The Lighthouse and speak with Neve to begin The Cobbled Swan Case. If you haven’t completed Neve’s first companion quest “
A Study of Dock Town” then you’ll need to do that first before this becomes available.
Analyze The Crime Scene¶
Head to Dock Town and make your way over to the Wharf Crossing South and speak with Neve who can be found standing outside The Cobbled Swan. She was intending to meet a friend, but some criminality occurred the day before so you need to help investigate the crime scene. You’ll now want to investigate the following points of interest:

- Head to the left of the bar and inspect the drag marks.
- Investigate the door directly in front of the drag marks.
- Head over to the booth to the left of the door and inspect the Crushed Flower Petals on the table.
- Investigate the bar.
- Head to the table on the eastern side of the bar.
- Investigate the tipped over table and chairs.
Learn the Singers Name¶
Once you’ve discovered that someone was performing the night of the attack, speak with Rana to see if she has any idea who it was. She doesn’t have any idea who the singer could be, so head outside and speak with Halos and the Diner who can be found at the Piscator Landing. Head over to Wharf Crossing South and speak with Benny who can be found sitting on a cart and then make your way over to the Shoreline Passage Dock and question Nira.

She informs you that the singer is called Cida Ciconia and she can be found at the Lamplighter which can be found in the Side Alley Bridge Area. Elek knows that Damas’ was taken by the Venatori and they can be found in the Thread Market. Head back down to the Shoreline Passage and take a left from the stairs and follow the narrow pathway. Once you’ve reached the Thread Market, take out the Venatori and then unseal the door by shooting the red crystals. If you’re unable to shoot one, then it’ll be connected to another crystal nearby.
Defeat Makal Damas¶
Once you’ve removed the barrier, head up the stairs and enter the room on the left and open the gear chest in the corner, then go through the double doors to trigger a cutscene. Unfortunately, Damas has become possessed so you’ll need to try and bring him under control without killing him. You’ll want to begin the battle by stripping its shield via ranged attacks, such as a Bow: Rogue, Mage: Staff and Warrior: Shield Throw, then you’ll want to utilize combo attacks when available while also weaving in Ice-based attacks to hit its elemental weakness.

Makal Damas will follow you around the battlefield while swinging his scythes at quite a fast pace which means you’ll take a lot of damage quite quickly, so you’ll want to make sure you stay on the move. After the battle you’ll get a choice between “Deal. Bataris threatens lives” or “No. We’ll find a better way”. If you’re trying to romance Neve, then we recommend selecting Deal. Bataris Threatens lives, as she’ll approve of this decision.
The Cobbled Swan Case Quest Rewards¶
Head back to The Lighthouse and you’ll have another conversation with Neve. Again, if you’re attempting to romance here, then make you select the “I’m here for you.” for you. Following this conversation the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 2,500 XP, Old New Clipping, +100 Shadow Dragons Strength and Companion Bond Increase.
