Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Harding Romance and Choices Guide

By
Shane Williams

Romance and Dragon Age goes hand-in-hand, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard is no stranger to it. In fact, you’ll be able to romance any character in the game regardless of your Race and Gender, which is a welcome change. Lace Harding will be a member of your team from the beginning of the game and if you want to romance her, then you’ll need to make sure your selecting the correct dialogue choices throughout your adventure. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to scoring a date!

You can choose to romance Lace Harding regardless of the race or gender you choose.

Take Neve or Harding with you during Beginning of the End

You’ll get an important choice during the first mission of the game (Beginning of the End). When you reach Solas’ location you’ll need to pick a companion to help you stop the ritual. Here you’ll want to bring along Harding, as she’ll greatly approve the decision. Unfortunately, she will get injured during the events that follow and it will be visible for most of the game’s first Act. This will make her unusable for the next main quest as she’ll be recovering at the Veil Jumpers camp, but we still recommend taking this path if you’re going for a Harding themed romance.

Committing to an Exclusive Relationship with Harding

Harding can be found at the Lighthouse trying to learn more about her recently acquired powers so you’ll want to make sure you pay her a visit throughout the game for a chat. These conversations will provide you with opportunities to flirt with her (indicated with a heart icon) and this will eventually allow you to pursue a romantic interest with her later in the game.

Pursue Romantic Interest in Harding

When you return to the Lighthouse following the events of the Bloodbath or The Cauldron Main Quest, you’ll get the opportunity to make your feelings towards Harding known by selecting the Anything I can do to help? choice. This is a non-committal choice at this stage of the game, so if you’re potentially interested in going for another romance option, then you can freely flirt with the other companions. If you choose, “I understand not sleeping, “Try a drink before bed” or “Punch It”, then you’ll be locked out from romancing her for this playthrough.

Exclusive Relationship with Harding

(1 of 2) Select Anything I can do to help? to show interest in Harding

Select Anything I can do to help? to show interest in Harding (left), and select “I won’t let it take you to make you exclusive. (right)

Continue progressing through the game while selecting dialogue choices with a heart icon when they become available, then during The Bond Rekindled Companion Quest you’ll have an opportunity to make you two exclusive by choosing I won’t let it take you. However, this will mean you’ll no longer be able to romance the other companions on this playthrough.
